In general, THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF AIR, in your tube or towable when they are inflated, they should be very firm. It should be wrinkle free. An average size adult should be able to stand on your tube and barely sink an inch.  To achieve the correct inflation, the PVC must stretch. So, your choice of pump to match your water tubes or toys is important.

PUMP GUIDE

The choice of pump should match your water tube, towable or pool float for your watersports. It is so important to understand that water tubes and towables are low pressure, high volume products. They don’t require high pressure. The pressure in a fully inflated tube should be about 2 PSI.

Towable tubes can be inflated using a good 12 volt electric pump or in combination with the use of a hand pump or a rechargeable pump to top it off. Where you fill up your towable or tubes is important for fun watersports. Some pumps will plug into your boat’s cigarette lighter.  The electric pump will do most of the work. But remember, the rule for proper inflation; no wrinkles and an average size adult should be able to stand on it and only sink an inch. A hand pump or rechargeable pump can not only be used to top off the water tubes or towable, but also help to maintain proper inflation levels, especially when you are out in the water.

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance is not hard, just simple. So many people over look this, here at Expert Watersports we cannot stress this enough. And it’s simple. After you have inflated your water tubes or towables ready for fun in the sun, use it that way. Don’t let it sit in the sun, on the boat, the dock or the beach full of air, because the sun will cause it to expand. If you have to, leave it in the shade, cool water, or simply let some air out.
